I read this book while traveling on a ship from Italy to Greece. Looking out at the blue Mediterranean sea while reading these old letters felt so right. It was a very peaceful journey. Let me share how it felt. I actually felt a bit emotional reading how much these men missed their partners while they were away.

When I was sitting on the deck watching the sunset, the letters by Beethoven really got to me. I felt a deep sense of connection to the past. It took me 3 nights to finish it because it’s a short but deep read. I would read about 40 pages every night under the stars. This book connected with me because it shows that love is the same in every century. My honest rating: 4.8/5.
